Want to get involved with the Sports Department at WRFW?
PBP for short, is a position that is the big man on air. They give an accurate description of the events that occur on the field or court.
Responsibilities: knowing the players names and statistics, how to set up equipment, being able to speak in a free-flowing matter on air, and is half responsible for keeping the broadcast on the air.
"Color" for short, is the person who gives air relief for the PBP announcer.
Responsibilities: knowing player bios, player statistics, being able to help set up equipment, giving the PBP a break when needed and be able to add quality information to keep the broadcast accurate and enjoyable.
The engineer is the sexiest position at WRFW... sort of. This position is where most broadcasters start to learn the tricks of the trade and a great way to learn how to problem solve if anything goes wrong in a broadcast.
Responsibilities: playing PSAs (public service announcements), keep track of the levels of the broadcast, recording the broadcast, and is half responsible for keeping the broadcast on air.
This position is a recently added position, and is something that is very flexible. This position can be done by MULTIPLE people at once. See the Sports Director for more details.
Responsibilities: tweeting out updates of the games that we broadcast on WRFW as well as other games going on at the same time.
