WRFW Leadership Team Elections



FEBRUARY 23-27: Application Period

Are you interested in running for a position on the WRFW Leadership team, or interested in fulfilling our Technical Director position? Please review the position descriptions as follows. ALL POSITIONS
Any elected Leadership member should be prepared to perform the following duties:
  • Assist in training new DJs
  • Participate in all new DJ sit-ins
  • Attend all meetings and events
  • Actively engage in the WRFW Teams channel and respond to any and all emails regarding WRFW
  • Regularly attend your own show, demonstrating excellent club spirit and a dedication to all FCC and WRFW guidelines/policies
  • Have basic knowledge of WRFW technical aspects and problem solving
  • Attend RSO training sessions as necessary, along with any other UWRF required events
  • Promote WRFW to prospective DJs and potential members 
  • Follow the discretion of the Advisor 
  • Work with the WRFW Leadership team in service for the club
​PRESIDENT
The President is responsible for the oversight of all club activities. This includes being the main communicator and point person for all things WRFW. This person should be well organized, have excellent communication skills, able to multitask, and delegate to other Leadership members. You must be able to take initiative on tasks and serve as a great leader to others, as well as be able to make executive decisions that will impact the club.

Tasks under this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Running monthly leadership meetings (Scheduling more as necessary)
  • Coordinating events, such as semester parties, Involvement fair participation, UC tabling, etc. 
  • Communicating regularly with all club members regarding upcoming events, studio updates and other important information, as well as communicating professionally with outside organizations (i.e. Alumni, UWRF, outside businesses, etc.)
  • Attend WBA and serve as the Student Ambassador for UW- River Falls (if applicable)
  • Keep studio and WRFW documents updated and organized
  • Manage relationships with WRFW alumni via Facebook
VICE PRESIDENT
The Vice President should be involved in all social aspects of the club and take on other responsibilities to allow other positions to carry out their duties. The VP should be ready to step up and help with any event or task. This position typically takes the lead with anything relating to new DJs. This person is sociable, can connect well with prospective students, and is flexible to take on any task needed of them.

Tasks under this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Have advanced knowledge in training new DJs
  • Serve as the point of contact for new DJs
  • Aid in promoting WRFW at social events, such as the Involvement Fair, being confident in their knowledge of WRFW processes to explain in a simplified way and answer questions
  • Assist all other specialized positions as necessary, taking on tasks from any aspect of WRFW
  • Serve as an available contact as necessary
  • Taking notes during meetings
TREASURER
The Treasurer serves to keep track, plan, and manage WRFW’s finances. In every decision, they provide their input on any financial matter. The largest task is to complete the budget for the following academic year. They must report this budget by attending a Student Media Committee Meeting. 

Tasks under this position include, but are not limited to:
  •  Provide input to the WRFW leadership team on all financial matters
  •  Draft the club budget with assistance from the WRFW Leadership Team and advisors
  •  Assist in planning club meetings
  •  Serve as a voting member on the Student Media Committee
MARKETER
The marketer is responsible for recruiting new DJs and promoting the club’s image to the campus and community by running social media accounts and producing advertisements. They also work closely with the Technical Director to help make digital content that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. 

Tasks under this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Run social media accounts, including Instagram and Facebook, posting regularly
  • Aid in updating the website, including photos, graphics and copy 
  • Create graphics and flyers for print
  • Coordinate media day
  • Assist in advancing the WRFW brand
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
The Technical Director is a specially trained technical position within WRFW and is appointed by the Leadership team. This student advises the Leadership team and contributes to meetings as they pertain to them, however is not a voting member on the Leadership team and does not hold additional Leadership team responsibilities. This position is taught and guided by the Advisor.

This position is on a volunteer-basis. This student is preferably living on campus or lives close to be able to assist DJs in a timely manner. It is typically expected that you are available via phone during all broadcasting hours for any technical assistance calls from DJs.

Tasks under this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Resolving issues with the livestream/broadcasting, including the soundboard during hours of student broadcasting
  • Maintaining and updating music using RadioBoss
  • Have up to date knowledge on programming rules and regulations
  • Actively engage in the WRFW Teams channel as it pertains to them and respond to any emails as it pertains to their role
  • Give updates to studio technical happenings as they arise, particularly to the President and Advisor
  • Assist the Leadership team with meetings as they pertain to the Technical Director
  • Assist the Marketer with updating the website as necessary
  • Assist with Leadership team duties if absolutely necessary
  • Attend regular training sessions with the Advisor as frequently as needed
